A fanlisting is a site in which fans of a particular song, actor, movie, anime, etc. join in order to create the largest listing of fans for that particular subject. In this case, Vampire is a listing for all the fans of the anime/manga character Claire Leonelli.

I first started seriously considering making a fanlisting sometime around February 2004. At first I thought about Final Fantasy XII, but since the game hadn't been released yet, thefanlistings.org wouldn't approve me for it. Then I began to think that maybe my first fanlisting should be for a smaller subject since I had zero experience. Since I love anime, I knew I wanted to create a listing for a character. The question was which one. Well, I couldn't think of anything for days and the excitement of running my first fanlisting diminished. But then, lo and behold, I happened to see an episode of Heat Guy J on MTV2 and I was like, "Holy cow! This is such a cool show!!" Claire immediately became my favorite character after watching the first episode (which was actually the second according to the series). So when the thought of my fanlisting returned, I knew Claire would be perfect. I checked thefanlistings.org and was surprised that no one had taken the listing. In fact, there wasn't even another fanlisting anywhere on the Internet, at least as far as I could see. It was too good to be true! So I submitted my application and was approved a few days later ^__^

It really surprised me how many fans there are for Claire. He has quite the following! And here I thought I was the only one. HA! And yes, I do all the updating manually. Since my domain host doesn't allow MYSQL I'm kinda put out that I can't use php fanbase. It's ok though. I guess you could say it's more personal this way. :D

The first layout was done fairly quickly. Vampire was officially opened on March 29, 2004. I didn't realize that it would grow so fast. So I redesigned the site to give it more room to expand. Now I'm busy adding extra content and other stuff, making this one of the best Claire Leonelli sites out there!!
